Path description:
After a short tour of the central part of Studenice, we continue left from the monastery complex next to the rectory. In the passage/underpass between the rectory and the winegrowers' association Studenice we continue uphill along a cart track beside a stone wall and the nuns' cemetery. We soon reach the source(s) of the Topli Studeniški stream left of the path and cross the stream on a narrow footbridge. We continue uphill, now on the old Roman road, which through long centuries has retained the original form of the basic path higher up to Boč. At the exit onto the forest road we turn left, right leads the road to the settlement Podboč or Zgornje Poljčane.
We follow the forest road and at the first larger crossroad/junction we continue right, left leads the road in the direction of Makole. Further on, we reach the log cabin of the hunters LD Poljčane at Golnik right beside the road. We continue along the road, which levels out for a few meters. After a short flat section we continue uphill and soon reach another crossroad, where we continue left onto a narrower forest road, right the path continues toward the tower on Boč. Along the narrower forest road between Kisovec left and Drevesnica right we soon reach the approximately 645 meters high saddle above Formila. We continue downhill, Formila already visible on the right, and from the left a marked mountain path from Makole soon joins.
Formila is reached and a short extension follows to the junction, left to the partisan hospital, Gaveza, Grilova chapel, Plešivec... and right to the mountain hut on Boč. The junction is also the connection with the Štajerska-Zagorje or „B“ - Bratska pot.
At the junction we continue left along the forest road and after about two hundred meters, slightly below the road to the left, we reach the intermediate goal of the path: the partisan hospital on Formila. It is still well hidden although located directly by the road. The wooden plaque with the inscription is on the trunk but unfortunately has been removed, knocked down, and similar several times.
After a short visit to the point along the path we continue along the forest road a few hundred meters further and at the first right turn-off we continue along the forest path. There is no direction sign at the turn-off but the mountain path through mixed deciduous and partly coniferous forest is easy to follow. In the growing season there is a lot of wild garlic here.
We soon reach the forest road opposite a smaller football pitch and turn left. We continue past the hunters' lodge LD Rogaška Slatina on the right along the path and past the Gavez homestead on the left along the path. From the right an asphalt road from Rogaška Slatina soon joins. We continue higher along the forest road, direction signs also help, and after a few hundred meters past a somewhat abandoned forestry ramp we continue right again to a junction with signs. Left/higher the path branches off toward Ložni or Donačka gora, while we continue right and after a few meters of flat terrain continue the descent. The path, pleasant in the embrace of the forest, crosses the forest road further on and across a small meadow clearing continues below Grilov hrib. The path is in constant descent and soon we reach the meadow plain. A few more steps and today's path goal is reached... Grilova chapel on Boč.
