Sveta Katarina (Zgornja Kapla) - Sršenov vrh

Access to starting point:
A) From the Maribor - Dravograd road we drive almost to the Ožbalt settlement (from the Dravograd direction a little after the settlement). A few hundred meters before (from the Dravograd direction after the settlement) the mentioned settlement a road branches off to the right (from the Dravograd direction to the left) towards Gradišče and Kapla, then at the crossroads we follow towards Kapla. We drive along the road to the Zgornja Kapla settlement, where in the center of the settlement, below the church of St. Catherine of Alexandria we park on the parking lot by the cemetery. From the main road to the starting point there is a little less than 15 km.
B) From the Dravograd - Maribor road we drive to the Ožbalt settlement, where at the parish church we turn left (from the Maribor direction right) onto a side road which continues past the branch primary school and then ascends along the Ožbalt stream. Higher at the crossroads we follow in the direction of Kapla, and we drive to the center of the Zgornja Kapla settlement, where below the church of St. Catherine of Alexandria we park on the parking lot by the cemetery. From the main road to the starting point there is a little less than 8 km.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the red hiking signposts, from them we turn left in the direction of Sršenov vrh and ascend through the meadow to the edge of the forest, from where a nice view opens up when looking back.
We continue straight on the marked path which goes into the forest, through the forest we ascend for a few minutes, then we continue the ascent along the edge of the forest. A little further, we cross the asphalt road and return to the forest, through which we continue a moderate ascent. After a few minutes, we return to the asphalt road and follow it to the right, along it we go past the Pokržnik homestead, behind the homestead on the left (eastern) side we cross Pokržnikov vrh, from where a view opens up towards the transmitters on Sršenov vrh. Next follows some easy descent and on the right side a nice view opens up, which reaches to the Carinthian two-thousanders, in good visibility even further.
On the mentioned panoramic part, the path stops descending and then gently ascends to the forest, where the signs for Sršenov vrh direct us left into the forest. Follows a shorter steeper ascent through quite dense forest, higher we reach a cart track and follow it to the right. The cart track quickly brings us to the next asphalt road, which we cross transversely to the right, then we go slightly left into the forest, through which we continue on the marked path. A little higher, at the smaller crossroad we reach another road, we go left onto the upper road, from it after a few steps right. Follows only a shorter moderate ascent and we arrive at the transmitters on Sršenov vrh.
