From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road ahead in the direction of Žirovnica and Jesenice. After a few km of driving, we will get to a crossroad, where the road to Žirovnica and Moste branches off to the right (from the direction of Jesenice left). Only a few meters ahead in the next crossroad, we turn left to Moste (right Žirovnica). Further, we drive past a monument to fallen fighters, where the road starts ascending on a hill below the railway track. On top of the slope, we turn right (at the sign Vila Karin), and we continue driving towards Završniško jezero and Valvasorjev dom. The road then flattens and brings us to a crossroad, where the road towards Valvasorjev dom branches off to the left, and we continue straight on the initially still asphalted road. The road soon becomes macadam, and we follow it to a parking lot near Tinčkova koča. The road in the upper part is often in quite bad condition.
Path description:
At the beginning of the parking lot blazes point us to the left into the forest. After a few meters, we come to a crossing where the unmarked path to Stol branches off to the right (via Zagon). We continue left on the marked path and further mostly in a gentle ascent through the forest cross quite steep slopes, which in snow can be very dangerous for slipping. Later the path brings us to a cart track where we continue left. After a short descent on the cart track we come again to a crossing where blazes from the cart track point us to the right into the forest. The slope further is no longer so steep and a few shorter ascents and descents follow. The path then turns a little to the right and several times crosses forest cart tracks. Such a path then brings us out of the forest where we join a wide cart track. Signposts direct us onto the cart track along which we soon reach Zabreška planina.
From the mountain pasture we continue on the cart track which brings us into the forest. After a short descent through the forest we get to the next mountain pasture, this time Žirovniška planina.
