Ukanc - Koča pri Savici (via Blato)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, then we continue driving towards Lake Bohinj and further towards the Vogel ski slope. When a short road branches off to the left from the main road towards the lower station of the cable car on Vogel, we continue right and then immediately park on a larger paid parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road towards the hotel Zlatorog. After a few minutes of easy walking past the campsite Zlatorog Bohinj and past the information board of the circular path Zlatorog fairy trail, we get to the hotel Zlatorog, and behind the hotel, the path splits.
We continue on the left path in the direction of Savica waterfall through Blato (straight: the normal path to Savica waterfall and the path around Lake Bohinj), where the path leads past the inn Erlah and past several apartments. At the crossings, we follow the yellow signs for the path through Blato, and we soon enter the forest, where at first we walk on a wide cart track. At the next yellow signs, the cart track narrows, crosses a torrent, and then starts a moderate to occasionally steep ascent. After a few minutes of ascent, the path flattens, and then in a few steps it lightly descends to a swampy pond, which we bypass on the right side. After the swamp, the path ascends for a few more minutes, and then it brings us out of the forest onto the vast meadow named Blato, where on the left we notice another pond. Here we continue straight across the meadow, then past a few houses and a smaller chapel, we reach the main road which leads towards the mountain hut Koča pri Savici.
We continue the ascent on the mentioned road, where because of some blind curves more caution is needed. We follow this road all the way to the mountain hut Koča pri Savici, which we reach after a few minutes of additional walking.
