We leave Gorenjska highway at exit Kranj east, and then we follow the signs for Šenčur. In the center of Šenčur, where the main road turns slightly to the left, we turn slightly right on the road Velesovska cesta. Šenčur soon ends, and after approximately 2 km from the end of the settlement, we turn left in the direction of Velesovo. Through Velesovo we continue on the main road, and there we drive to the fire station Velesovo and a store, where the described path begins.
Path description:
From the fire station we walk to the main road Visoko - Cerklje na Gorenjskem and we carefully cross it. We continue on a side road which leads us towards the north to northeast, and there we continue to the last farm, where the asphalt ends. We continue also past the hayrack, and by the edge of the forest, the road at first turns a little to the left and then right into the forest, where first blazes show up. A little further, the road changes into a cart track, where at some crossings we follow the blazes, and when we reach the ridge of Štorski hrib where we join the path from Adergas, we continue left and we quickly get to a marked crossing at the chapel.
We continue right in the direction of the path via benches (left path past Šterna) on a cart track which gradually starts moderately ascending. Higher, the path brings us to three successive benches (klopce), from which a nice view opens up on Gorenjska. The cart track then passes into the forest, changes into a quite steep footpath which quickly flattens and brings us out of the forest on a grassy slope, from which a nice view opens up towards the massif of Kočna, Grintovec and Kalški greben and on which in few minutes we get to an asphalt and then also to tourist farm Pr Mežnarju.
From the farm we continue on the path which ascends on at first steep grassy slope, and then through a lane of a forest. After a good 5 minutes of additional walking, we step on Štefanja gora, on which stands the church of St. Štefan.
