Vurberk - Grmada (at Vurberk)

Access to starting point:
Leave the Styrian motorway at the Maribor - centre exit, then follow the signs for Dogoše and Spodnji Duplek. Continue following the signs for Vurberk, from the roundabout in Dvorjane take the exit towards Ptuj. When the road climbs higher, we arrive at a junction near which there is a cemetery on the left and the Vurberk Cultural Home on the right. Park in the parking lot below the cemetery, or in the parking lot next to the cultural home.

Route description:
From the parking lot, head onto the path in the direction of Grmada where we first walk along the road towards the cemetery, already after a few steps we arrive at a right bend, where we continue straight onto the footpath towards Grmada. A short ascent follows on a forest trail, then we reach a cart track which we follow to the left. Walk along the cart track to the nearby widening, where we continue slightly right onto the marked path which subsequently ascends transversely across the steeper slope. After a few minutes the path levels out and takes us to the saddle between the two Grmadas.
Continue slightly left and proceed along the marked path (right unmarked path to the southeastern summit of Grmada), along which we quickly reach the northwestern, i.e. main summit of Grmada, where there is a logbook box and a small tower.
