Železniška postaja Ormož - Ormoške lagune

Access to starting point:
We drive into the center of Ormož, and then we follow the signs for the railway station. We park in the parking lot by the railway station, where we notice signs for the Ormoške lagune.
To the starting point, we can also get by train.

Route description:
On the northwestern side of the railway station we notice red cycling signs for Ormoške lagune and Središče ob Dravi, which direct us to the other side of the railway track. Here we first carefully cross the railway track, then turn left and continue walking on the sidewalk of road Varaždinska cesta. At the border crossing Ormož we continue straight, then carefully cross the main road at the pedestrian crossing, and keep walking on the sidewalk, now along the road named Za kolodvorom. We continue on the sidewalk for a short time, then on the right we notice a passage by the flood protection fence and move from the sidewalk to the embankment of lake Ormoško jezero (the cycling path towards Ormoške lagune continues on a parallel road).
The path ahead leads us along the embankment of lake Ormoško jezero, with beautiful views opening up of the lake and Ivanščica on the Croatian side. We walk along the embankment to a spot where a passage with stairs opens to the left, down which we steeply descend to a macadam road, reaching it right at the turn-off towards Ormoške lagune.
We continue in the direction of the lagoons and quickly arrive at an organized parking lot at the start of the learning trail.
Here, the learning trail begins to the left, but we go right and continue along the macadam road to the visitor center, which is located by the Ormoške lagune.
