Zgornje Poljčane - Gril's chapel on Boč

Access to starting point:
A) From the direction of Maribor we leave the highway in Slovenska Bistrica, where signs point us to Poljčane. Through the center of the settlement Poljčane we continue in the direction of Zgornje Poljčane, where in the center of the settlement we park; the appropriate place is the parking spot by the cemetery.
B) From the direction of Ljubljana we leave the highway in Slovenske Konjice and through Žiče, Loče and Zbelovo we get to Poljčane. At the crossroad we continue right in the direction of Zgornje Poljčane a few hundred meters, where in the center of the settlement we park; the appropriate place is the parking spot by the cemetery.

Path description:
After a short tour of the center of the settlement Zgornje Poljčane we continue across the stream Bela by the presbytery a little upwards on the road. Left by the path we reach the entrance into the church, on the facade there is also a relief of two Romans. After the tour we continue left in the direction of the settlement Podboč on an asphalt connection, also Formilska kolesarska pot. We soon reach a pleasant, smaller settlement Podboč and left by the path the tree Černogova tisa and a well renovated by locals.
We continue right on the road upwards, now we also enter the landscape park Boč & Plešivec. The asphalt pavement changes into a forest road. The view left is also a view lower to the surroundings of Poljčane and the bed of the flood river Dravinja among fields and meadows. The road passes into the forest and we soon reach the grassy plain, where the road flattens.
On the grassy plain right is a smaller storage with a field and left are vineyards. We again continue through the forest and the road winds pleasantly left, right... At the end of the flat part we continue right upwards on the forest road, while sharply from the left the path from Studenice joins...
We follow the forest road and at the first larger crossroad/junction we continue right, left leads the road in the direction of Makole. Further right by the road we reach the log cabin of hunters LD Poljčane on Golnik.
We continue on the road, which flattens for a few meters. After a short flat section we continue uphill and soon reach the junction, where we continue left on the narrower forest road, right continues the path towards the tower on Boč. On the narrower forest road between Kisovec left and Drevesnica right we soon reach the about 645 meters high saddle above Formila. We continue downwards, Formila is already right from us in the field of view, from the left soon joins a marked mountain path from Makole.
Formila is reached and follows a short extension to the junction, left for partisan hospital, Gavez, Grilova kapela, Plešivec... and right for mountain hut on Boč. The junction is also the connection with Štajerska - zagorska or ,,B,, - Bratska pot.
At the junction we continue left on the forest road and after good hundred meters left somewhat below the route of the road we reach the intermediate goal of the path - Partisan hospital on Formila/Boč. It is still well hidden although it lies directly by the road. A wooden plaque with inscription is on the trunk, but unfortunately also several times removed, knocked to the ground and similar.
After a short tour of the point by the path we continue on the forest road a few hundred meters further and at the first branch right we continue on the forest path. There is no directional sign at the branch but an easily followable mountain path through mixed forest of deciduous trees and partly conifers. In the growth season there is a lot of wild garlic here.
We soon reach the forest road opposite a smaller football field and turn left. We continue by the hunters' lodge LD Rogaška Slatina right by the path and by the homestead Gavez left by the path. From the right soon also joins the asphalt road from Rogaška Slatina. We continue higher on the forest road, also directional signs are helpful and after a few hundred meters by the somewhat abandoned forest ramp we continue right again to the junction with signs. Left or higher branches off the path towards Ložni or Donačka gora, while we continue right and after a few meters of flat we continue with the descent. The path, pleasant in the embrace of the forest and we cross further the forest road and across a smaller meadow clearing we continue below Grilov hrib. The path is somewhat in constant descent and soon we pass to the meadow plain. A few more steps and the goal of the path today is reached... Grilova kapela on Boč.
