Access to starting point:
We drive to Žiri, where we park near the parish church of St. Martin.
Path description:
From the church, we continue on the main road in the direction of Škofja Loka, walking along it to the junction, where signs for Goropeke point us to the right uphill. This is followed by an ascent on an asphalt road which higher brings us out of the forest and then with nice views we reach the centre of the village Goropeke, where there is the church of St. John the Baptist.
Here we continue right (straight past company Žakelj and footpath to Žiri) and we continue the path further on the asphalt road. Higher, a little after the sign the road splits, and we choose the slightly left road which past the abandoned ski slope Goropeke brings us to the mountain hut Dom na Goropekah, which is also closed for some years.
