Ampferstein

Description of mountain:
Ampferstein is a less prominent peak located between the more famous Marchreisenspitze and the Halsl saddle in the picturesque Kalkkögel range.

Despite its lesser prominence, the summit is relatively well-visited, as the popular via ferrata "Lustige Bergler" runs just below it, providing the only marked access route to Ampferstein. The view from the summit is comparable to that from neighboring Marchreisenspitze, although the latter blocks the view toward the Stubai Valley and the western part of the Inn Valley; on the other side, Ampferstein offers one of the finest views of Marchreisenspitze, along with good sights of the Mieming and Nordkette ranges above Innsbruck, the Zillertal Alps, and part of the Kalkkögel.
