Buchkogel or Wildoner Berg is 550 meters high hill in the southern part of Steiermark.
Buchkogel together with peaks Wildoner Schlossberg (450 meters) and Bockberg (449 meters) forms the ridge which was in the middle ages known under the name "Hengist".
In this day they call it Wildoner Berg or Buchkogel, after the highest summit, or Wildoner Buchkogel to distinguish it from Buchkogel at Plabutsch.
From the top due to the forest there isn't any view.
Due to its protected location, it offers a shelter for numerous animal and plant species.
The forest may only be accessed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m, so that the wild animals at feeding sites can feed undisturbed.
