Castle Stari grad Kamnik

Description of mountain:
Stari grad Kamnik, formerly known as Zgornji grad (Oberstain), is located on a scenic hill east of Kamnik called Krniška gora. Today, only ruins of the castle remain on the top of Krniška gora; it was first mentioned in the 12th century. Near the ruins of the former castle is the Grof Andeš guesthouse, open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. From the summit, there is a beautiful view of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Kamnik, Gorenjska, and the Ljubljana Basin. On clear days, the view extends all the way to Snežnik and Triglav.
