Description of mountain:
Gschaidberg (also Gschaid-Nock or simply Gschaid) is a 1,239 m high mountain in the Graz Mountains in Austria's Styria.
It is part of the Almenland Nature Park and a popular excursion destination thanks to its magnificent views.
From the summit meadow, the panorama stretches from nearby Röthelstein and Rote Wand to the northwest across the entire Passail basin between Weizklamm and Schöckl to the south.
Marked hiking trails lead to the summit from three sides.
A special tourist attraction is the trail of wooden sculptures, which doubles as a forest educational path from Nechnitz right up to below the peak.
More than 45 different native animal species are on display.
