Description of mountain:
Haláp Hill is one of many extinct volcanoes by Lake Balaton near the town of Tapolca.
Despite its lower elevation, an exceptional view of the surrounding volcanic hills and Lake Balaton opens up from the summit.
Unfortunately, the mountain has been greatly altered due to the former basalt quarry, so it was probably much higher in the past. In the now abandoned quarry on the summit plateau, an educational trail and an open-air museum of stone sculptures have been set up.
