Description of mountain:
Hoher Sonnblick also Rauriser Sonnblick is 3106 meters high mountain in the mountain group Goldberg. On the mountain is also situated a mountain hut Zittelhaus and highest situated meteorological station in Austria. From the top, there is a very nice view towards the nearby glaciers and on a larger part of the mountain group Goldberg. Nicely we can also see Grossglockner (Veliki Klek). The mountain is interesting also from a historical perspective because on the slopes of the mountain there are also some gold mines. After them the mountain group Goldberg also got its name. Mountain hut Zittelhaus, which is situated on the top of the mountain was built in the year 1886. The mountain hut is open from the beginning of March to the end of October. In the time when mountain hut is closed is available winter room with 10 beds.
