Kalvarija (church of St. Barbara)

Description of mountain:
Kalvarija is a hill above Maribor largely covered in vineyards. 454 stone steps ("štenge" to Kalvarija) lead to the top. Near the steps stands the Church of St. Barbara, built in thanks for the end of the plague outbreak (1681).
From the summit (375 m), there's a fine view of all of Maribor, the Drava River, and Mariborsko Pohorje. A pleasant hiking trail winds along the hill among the local vineyards with great vistas!
