Chapel of St. Barbara on Pejce

Description of church:
The Chapel of St. Barbara on Pejce is one (the upper) of two chapels along the old ironworks path, used centuries ago to transport iron ore down to Jesenice valley. From the path near the upper chapel, there are partial views of the town in the valley and toward Mali Mežakli. Once a Church of St. Barbara stood on Plavž (the western part of Jesenice), but it was demolished at the end of the 18th century. Today the chapels along the path over Pejce are dedicated to her.
