Kerinov spomenik

Description of mountain:
Kerin Memorial is a commemorative marker standing on the ridge of Orlica at 614 meters above sea level. It was erected in memory of Ivan Kerin from Silovec, an OF fighter killed by German occupiers at this spot on May 1, 1944.
In the immediate vicinity of the memorial is Omerz's Cross, which also marks this historical point on the border between the municipalities of Brežice and Krško.
The popular Sovereignty Trail passes by the memorial, connecting the birthplace of linguist Maks Pleteršnik in Pišece with the highest peak of Orlica and other local landmarks. The trail is dedicated to the memory of the Slovenian tolar and Slovenia's independence.
