Petnikov vrh is located northwest of the center of the settlement Gaj nad Mariborom. Next to Gora peak, Petnikov vrh is the closest summit in the area. No marked trail leads to it. At the time of the description, a mobile antenna with associated equipment was located on it. The peak offers no views.
