Petzeck, at 3,283 meters, is the highest peak in the Schober mountain group. From the summit, there is a very fine view of much of the Schober group, and Großglockner is also clearly visible. The name Petzeck has interesting interpretations. One of the more likely ones states that it derives from Slovene, specifically the word peč (crag) or pesek (sand).
