Description of mountain:
Punta Fanes Sud is 2980 meters high mountain in the ridge Cresta di Fanes. From a hardly accessible peak a wonderful view opens up on the highest peaks of Dolomites. Among mountaineers the mountain is known mainly after one of the most beautiful and most difficult climbing paths in the Dolomites.
The mountain is important also from a historical perspective, namely because of events, which took place here in the first world war.
