Rifugio Gilberti

Description of hut:
The Rifugio Gilberti mountain hut is located on the northern Italian side of Kanin, more precisely between Bela peč and Hudi Vršič. From the hut or its immediate surroundings, there is a nice view of the aforementioned two peaks, Prestreljenik and its window, Lopo, and the Montaž group of mountains. Near the hut is also the upper station of the Sella Nevea ski area cableway (Nevejski preval), which shortens access to the hut (only 5 minutes from the cableway to the hut). Between the cableway and the hut, we notice a mountain chapel, next to which lies an old military cannon.
