Description of mountain hut:
Mountain hut Gilberti is situated on the northern Italian side of Kanin, more precisely between Bela peč and Hudi Vršič. From the mountain hut or its nearby surroundings is a nice view towards the already mentioned two peaks, Prestreljenik and its window, Lopa and on Montaž group of mountains. Near the mountain hut is also upper cableway station of the ski slope Sella Nevea (Nevejski preval), which shortens access to the hut (from cableway to the hut is only 5 minutes). Between cableway and mountain hut we notice mountain chapel, by which there is situated old military cannon.
