Description of waterfall:
Slap Rinka is located at the far end of Logarska Valley, directly beneath the mighty walls of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. With its 90-meter free fall over a vertical wall, it is considered one of the most recognizable and visited waterfalls in Slovenia. Including the upper cascades above the main drop, the total height exceeds 100 meters.
The waterfall's waters are fed from a high-mountain basin in the Okrešelj cirque. Below the wall, the waterfall plunges into a large natural amphitheater, where the water immediately disappears into gravel deposits. The underground flow reemerges lower in the valley as the source of the Črna stream, which is also the origin of the Savinja River. For this reason, Slap Rinka represents a key hydrological point in this part of the mountains.
The waterfall is a popular excursion destination year-round. In spring and during heavy rainfall, it offers views of exceptional water power, while in summer it serves as a starting point for more demanding high-mountain tours. In winter, the waterfall often freezes and becomes a popular climbing site for ice alpinists. Right next to the waterfall, the wooden viewpoint shelter Orlovo gnezdo is also located in the rock.
