Description of mountain:
Spitzegel / Negal is a 2,119 m high mountain in the Gailtal Alps in Austria. The ridge with its highest peak Spitzegel / Nagal logically connects the Dobrača massif to the east and the ridges of Reißkofel and then Jaukna to the west. Spitzegel / Negal rises with 1,500 m of prominence on the southern side above Hermagor / Šmohor. To the north lies the Tscherniheimer valley, and the large lake Wießensee is also clearly visible. In the distance to the south, the Julian and Carnic Alps are visible.
A cross stands on the summit. There, hikers can sign the summit book and stamp for the Vrhovi prijateljstva traverse.
There are many mountain pastures around the mountain where livestock graze; due to numerous gravel roads and tracks, the area is popular among mountain bikers.
