Stapina

Description of mountain:
Stapina is a massive, approximately one-hundred-meter-high limestone monolith. Visible and distinctive from afar, the rock is considered the natural symbol of the entire Stap area. It is especially popular with climbers. The summit can only be reached with full alpine equipment and knowledge. At the base of the wall there is a registration box; most hikers end their ascent here or use it as an intermediate stop on the Velebit hiking trail. The view is particularly fine toward the islands around Zadar and part of the Southern Velebit.
