Sveti Hieronim (na Nanosu)

Description of church:
The Church of St. Jerome is located at an altitude of 1020 meters on the southern edge of the Nanos plateau, just above the steep slopes of Rebernice and just below Grmada. The church or chapel is first mentioned in historical documents as early as 1360, and it acquired its current Gothic-Renaissance form in the first quarter of the 17th century. After World War II, it was quite damaged and left to decay, but the locals thoroughly renovated it in 1990.
A little below the church, there is a wonderful, wide view that, in addition to the Vipava Valley, also includes the Karst, Vremščica, the Gulf of Trieste, Istria, and on clear days all the way to Friuli and the Dolomites.
