Description of church:
A well-known and nearby excursion spot for Velenje residents is located on Gradišče Hill at 528 m, on the southern edge of the Šaleška Valley.
It has two faces: forested on the northern side above the Gorenje factory, and settled on the southern side, covered in vineyards and orchards.
The panoramic hill is home to the Church of St. James from 1583, considered the oldest church in the Šaleška Valley based on its appearance.
Both its nave and presbytery are still Romanesque and represent the only preserved part of the medieval Lilienberg Castle.
In addition to the marked trail, a road through Podkraj also leads to the church.
From the church, there are fine views of Velenje and the surrounding hills.
