Description of mountain:
Szent György Hegy (St. George's Mountain) is one of numerous volcanoes on the northeastern shore of Lake Balaton, in the area Hungarians call Tapolca Basin (named after the largest nearby town, Tapolca). It is not the highest volcano in the vicinity but the most visited, as 12 m high basalt pillars are located on its northern side. The summit offers a fine view of the surroundings, and on exceptional visibility, Boč and Donačka gora are visible from the top.
