Zir

Description of mountain:
Zir is a lonely hill located on the southern part of Ličko polje. It seems like a miracle how the sharp rocky peak rises from the surrounding plain. Visits to the peak have greatly increased since the Zagreb-Split highway was completed, which also features the Zir rest area from where the mountain is clearly visible to many. The mountain also has an interesting cave at the end of which lies an underground lake. Despite its relatively low elevation, Zir's summit is an exceptional vantage point with views of Velebit and the neighboring ranges and Ličko polje.
