Description of mountain:
Žusem is 669 meters high hill with a rich history and great potential for the future. It represents the northern edge of Kozjansko, and its name originates from the last name of the first owner of the castle, knight and ministerial of Krško Poppo de Suzzenheim. The view from Žusem towards the south reveals the line between two worlds: prealps and Subpannonia. On the west and south there are rising hills, mostly made of dolomite and limestone, with the highest peaks between 500 and 800 meters (Kunšperška gora, Orlica, Vetrnik, Oslica, Rudnica, Bohor), which belong in the eastern Posavsko hribovje, in Prealps. On the south slope of Žusem, the settlement Dobrina is spreading over, and on the western Hrastje.
In the last years, the tourist and other activities on Žusem and in its surrounding are developing a lot. Especially hiking and paragliding. The vicinity of Slivnica lake also brings an excursion tourism, which has a good effect on development of surrounding tourist farms. The potencial is also in development of health tourism at the source Grajski vrelec in Dobrina.
