Akarscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2315 meters located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located in country Austria 6 km northeast from the center of Obertauern and 9 km east-southeast from the center of Untertauern and 0.5 km south of peak Steirische Kalkspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Giglachsee Hütte, located 1.2km east. bivouac Knappenstube is also relatively close. The saddle is located southwest of the valley Obertal.
