Gallhofkogel is 958 meter high peak and is part of the mountain group Totes Gebirge. The peak is located 4 km south of peak Trisselwand. The nearest mountain hut is Loserhütte, located 6km north-northwest. A bit closer is bivouac Grundlsee Archkogl, which is located 1.4km to the northeast. 4 km north-northwest of the peak there is lake Altausseer See. The peak is located east-northeast of the valley Koppental.
