Großer Hühnerkogel is 1651 meter high peak in the Ybbstal Alps. The peak is located 6 km south from the center of Lunz am See and 8 km east from the center of Göstling an der Ybbs. The nearest mountain hut is Ybbstaler Hütte, located 1.3km west-southwest. And Jagdhütte Gamseck is also close by. The peak is located south-southeast of the valley Kothbergtal.
