Grünberg is 615 meter high peak. The peak is located 0.9 km east from the center of Bad Zell and 1.7 km east from the center of Riegl. The nearest mountain hut is Buchberg Hütte, located 15km northwest. Closer is bivouac Schlangenkopf, which is located 11km to the west. 0.6 km west of the peak there is lake Badeteich Bad Zell. Southeast of the summit is the valley Strudengau.
