Gründegg is 2168 meter high peakon which a cross stands located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km southwest from the center of Kleinarl and 6 km east-northeast from the center of Großarl. The nearest mountain hut is Ellmaualm, located 1.1km southwest. Even closer is Kleinwildalm, which is located 1.0km to the northwest. 7 km south-southeast of the peak there is lake Tappenkarsee. South of the summit is the valley Kleinelendtal.
