Matthiaskoppen is 1411 meter high peak located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 5 km south-southwest from the center of Untertauern and 5 km west-northwest from the center of Obertauern and 2 km east-northeast of peak Spazeck and severno above the mountain pasture Hintergnadenalm. The nearest mountain hut is Weissenhofhütte Hintergnadenalm, located 0.3km south. Nöglhofhütte is also relatively close. Northeast of the summit is the valley Preunegg.
