Poludnig is 1999 meter high peak with a cross located in the Carnic Alps mountain range. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Wirtshaus Starhand, located 6km east-southeast. A bit closer is Almgasthof Poludnig Alm, which is located 0.8km to the east-northeast. 7 km north-northeast of the peak there is lake Lake Pressegg. North-northwest of the summit is the valley Unteres Gailtal and a marked path leads to the top.
