Raun is 789 meter high peak and is part of the Gailtal Alps. The peak is located 5 km west of peak Spitzegel. The nearest mountain hut is Kohlröslhütte, located 4km north-northwest. A little further is bivouac Garnitzenklammhütte. The peak is located north-northwest of the valley Gitschtal.
