Schönstein is 582 meter high peak in the Upper Austrian Prealps. The peak is located in country Austria 1.0 km south-southwest from the center of Losenstein and 4 km northwest from the center of Reichraming and 3 km east-northeast of peak Hohe Dirn. The nearest mountain hut is Landesjugendhaus Losenstein, located 1.3km north-northeast. A little closer is bivouac Losenstein Friedhof, which is located 1.0km to the east-northeast. The peak is located west-northwest of the valley Neustiftgraben.
