The nearest mountain hut is Hochfilzerhütte, located 21km west-northwest. Closer is bivouac Unterstand, which is located 2km to the east-southeast. 5 km south of the peak there is lake Grundlacke. West-northwest of the summit is the valley Doktorbrunngraben.
