Tranebenkogel is 1815 meter high peak in the mountain group Totes Gebirge. The peak is located 6 km northeast from the center of Tauplitz and 7 km north from the center of Pürgg. The nearest mountain hut is Spechtenseehütte, located 5km south-southeast. Closer is Marburger Hütte, which is located 4km to the west.
