Untere Rötspitze is 3290 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Kleine-Philipp-Reuter-Hütte, located 1.1km east-northeast. A little further is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte. 0.7 km west from the summit there is glacier Rötkees - Vedretta Rossa, 0.8 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Welitzkees.
