Zgornji Slemen (Šiker) - Možičev vrh

Access to starting point:
From the Maribor–Dravograd road, in the settlement of Bresternica we turn right (from the direction of Dravograd left) towards the village of Gaj. After a few meters, at a poorly marked intersection, we continue left and follow the road that takes us through the settlement to the chapel, where we turn left again. The road in a moderate ascent takes us deeper into the valley of the Bresterniški potok. We follow it to the road marker 7 km, from where after a few dozen meters of driving (just before the Šiker farm) we reach the starting point. Here to the left across the bridge over the stream a new marked road branches off, which replaces the closed path with the starting point at Dobajev mlin. There are no designated parking spaces at the starting point itself, so the vehicle must be parked earlier at a suitable place along the road, where we do not obstruct traffic.

Route description:
From the starting point we cross the bridge over the Bresterniški potok and head onto the new marked road, which initially leads us past the Šiker farm, then initially ascends gently along a smaller stream. The asphalt soon ends, and the marked road turns left and from the valley moves onto the slopes, across which we ascend transversely to the left. Higher up the path leads us past individual farms, and at intersections we follow the markings. Later, a path from the starting point at Spodnji Rušnik joins us imperceptibly from the left, which is no longer officially a mountain path, but we continue ascending gently to moderately. Further on, via a marked shortcut we cut a bend, then return to the road.
Higher up we leave the forest and arrive at the pastures by the Vodopivec farm.
Above the farm we continue right, the road returns to the forest, and in the forest we join the path from the starting point in the settlement Zgornji Boč and the closed path from the starting point at Dobajev mlin. Here we go left, and after just a short distance we leave the forest, so only a short walk separates us from the mountain hut.
From the hut we continue right towards Žavcarjev vrh, where we walk on a well-trodden path through the forest. After a few minutes of ascent we turn onto a slightly left cart track, along which we quickly reach the 915 m high peak.
We bypass the registration box on the left side, then begin descending through the forest on an unmarked trail. Lower down we join a cart track, which we follow straight. A little further the path stops descending, and at the junction of cart tracks we turn onto the one that begins ascending again. During the ascent we keep to the left directions, so that we reach the indistinct peak along the likewise indistinct eastern ridge.
