Access to starting point:
From the Kuzma - Gornji Petrovci road, at the settlement Martinje we turn onto the road towards Hungary and continue driving towards the place Gornji Senik / Felsőszölnök. After a short descent we arrive in the mentioned place, where we park at the arranged parking lot near the church.
Route description:
From the parking lot we continue along the main road, first passing the church, kindergarten and store to the marked intersection. Here we turn left towards the viewpoint on Janezov breg, and at the cultural center again left towards Tromejnik. The path then leads us past a small fire station, where we turn right towards the hamlet Zgornji Janezov breg / Felsőszölnök-Jánoshegy (straight leads the path towards Tromejnik). Further on we pass a few more houses, where the path begins to visibly ascend, and the asphalt ends before the forest. We continue the ascent through the forest, initially still past individual houses, then through dense forest on a poorer gravel road that forks higher up.
While the left, somewhat poorer road leads towards the hamlet Zgornji Janezov breg, we continue right and then immediately right again at the cross. Only a few dozen steps of walking follow and we arrive at the viewing tower on Janezov breg.
From the tower we return to the last marked fork, then continue on the poorer road towards the west. A bit more walking on the road without major ascents or descents follows. A few minutes later we reach the last hamlet, where we go right and then immediately left and follow the marked path, which after the last, completely abandoned house turns into dense forest. In the forest the path soon forks again, and we choose the slightly right path, along which the green markings continue (left lead red markings, and the path leads towards the western part of the village Gornji Senik). Through the forest we follow the markings, which bring us to the state border between Austria and Hungary, and we follow the path to the guard tower above Eisenberg.
From the tower we continue left towards the tripoint (right Eisenberg an der Raab), where we continue on the poorer gravel road. This quickly turns into a track that soon forks. We continue on the slightly left path, which on the left side bypasses the nearby apiary (the slightly right path mostly follows the road), and continue along the state border between Austria and Hungary. A few short ascents and descents follow, and from the left a path from the Hungarian settlement Gornji Senik / Felsőszölnök joins us. We walk a bit longer mostly on a forest path, then reach a forest road. Here we turn left (straight Holzmannkogel, right leads the road towards the valley, sharp right we can return to the guard tower). A gentle descent follows, which brings us to Zeminggraben, where we leave the road and turn left into the forest (straight the path follows the road). The path then leads us across a wooden bridge, after which we ascend steeply for a while. The steepness soon eases and we follow the path that runs along the state border all the way to the summit of Tromejnik.
Gornji Senik - viewing tower on Janezov breg 0:25, viewing tower on Janezov breg - guard tower 0:30, guard tower - Tromejnik 1:00.
