Look I just wanted to say what the conditions are like since I was there walking. That's all. I just prefer not wading snow up to my butt, don't care who made the "track". Just wanted to report actual conditions to users. Everyone has their opinion... if I offended someone, next time I'll keep comment to myself. That's all from me, Lp

lakkon,

was today on Komen, snow at least 70-80cm maybe somewhere even 1m. But super track made by sled and walks nicely, I went from direction of hut on Smrekovec. Lp and safe step

Becar, I didn't say I drive but said it doesn't bother me and I have nothing against those who drive, so don't mix things up! You can come report them, you won't achieve anything because no one will pay... That I can tell you 100%... and it'll be hard to take anyone down, I tell you that too. The guys are totally fine and we often chat, drink and they've also rescued and helped many people... now I'm really saying goodbye to this topic because we can never get to the end... I wish you much enjoyment in the mountains in your areas, we'll enjoy ours. Regards,mežikanje

Nobody will pay anything... so you don't need to worry!!! You can report as many times as you want... nice regards

@Okmodko
snowmobilers don't bother me either, I walk much more easily in winter... and the guys are really friendly and often help! They shouldn't be put in the same basket as e.g. motocross and quads that can destroy undergrowth etc...

Actually what bothered me wasn't so much the forecast itself, but current conditions in our mountains...you can't write that currently in our mountains (except Julians) snow at 1000m 20-50cm if that much fell just on Sunday and today...together it's more than a meter, not to mention 1500m!!! So you just need to check things a bit earlier and then write...then people come and shock because they see how much snow there is. Regards

Just quickly something for the Hribi.net editors!!! Let me tell you that elsewhere too (not just in the Julian Alps) there is much more snow than you write daily with the issued weather forecast ...e.g. in Carinthia at 1000m 1m of snow not 20-50cm and at 1500m approx. 2m!!! I'm talking about Smrekovec and surroundings...if you don't believe come see! Regards

I agree it's really nice in summer and just come see us! Lp

It's rather bad now with the road... it's cleared up to about 6 km before the hut on Smrekovec, then on "Celc" and you sink in deep already just to the top of Smrekovec. Then it's still at least 2 h walk to Komna... now even more and as I wrote before there's a huge amount of snow. But now it's nice too once you're on top,nasmeh

By road it's 10 km from the linden to the hut on Smrekovec. You can drive a few km by car and then go e.g. past the Black Lake towards Krnes and Komn, that's ca. 2h normal walking.
ludri13. 02. 2012 21:52:17
Yes, it's really worth seeing...in summer once just take some time to view that linden and then "swing by" Smrekovec too and you'll have a really nice day for an outing! Best

Haha, actually I used to live on Ludranskem vrh now I live in Črni... but I still have grandma up there and I'm often with her on weekends!

I have to write something myself about the measured snow height in our mountains!!! I can only smile at the post that there's 50cm snow in our mountains at 1500m! Yesterday I visited Smrekovec since I'm from these parts and let me tell you there's already snow at Pudgarskem (1030m) from Črna direction towards Smrekovec ca. 60cm, I won't talk about 1500m height because there's almost 1m snow plus every 100m from Krnesa direction towards Komnu drifts at least 2-3m high and walking is extremely difficult. If anyone wants proof I can send pics or even better go check yourself the exceptional "winter" in these ends of our beautiful Slovenia... Best to all
