This weekend I'm planning a trip to the Triglav Lakes with overnight stay at Zasavska hut and return the next day. I have no experience with bivouac overnights yet and given the fairly low temperatures I'm not sure if I have everything I need. Planned equipment:
-sleeping bag
-spare socks, shirt,...(everything that can get wet)
-extra sweater for sleeping
-headlamp + spare batteries
-some hot water bottle
-lots of chocolate, bars,... for quick energy and some homemade sausage for "long shelf life"
-thermos of hot tea for evening
-stove? this bothers me most - take or not? Hot tea in the morning would surely come in handy, but I don't know how safe it is to cook in that small bivouac?
Mainly worried about night cold and amount of food and drink(some spring along the path will probably be frozen), so I'd be happy for any advice or your experiences how you prepare for such trips.
Also interested in what the bivouac etiquette is or do I just arrive and find a spot or did I miss something (assume bivouac is always unlocked).
