Hi everyone. I've been following your forum for a long time, but this is my first post. Something interests me; since my partner and I like to go to the mountains and hills regardless of weather and season, in winter we're regularly chased by the too short day or at the end we end up (almost) in the dark. I'm interested in what kind of light you'd recommend for "night" hiking, so that you really see well, without eye strain at the end. And so the battery lasts more than one hour. I've already noticed that some hikers have really nice powerful lights, probably LED lights. Where can I get those? Thanks for the advice. Hribolazka

Here, yesterday I was on another "night" hike. REs is great. Surprisingly many people. One thing interests me: why do some think a light can shine too much? Me, for example, I see poorly in the dark, already wear glasses (have quite high diopters) and my 1000 lumens aren't too much by any chance. Of course, nothing beats full moon, I agree, but that's more in the open, not in the forest, on slightly more demanding terrain, then moon alone is too little, unfortunately.

Report from yesterday: more than satisfied, so thanks to Mikglavž for enlightening me like that. Most of the time I had it on lower power, which is more than enough for walking. That's why the battery lasts, no overheating, in short very satisfied. Already looking forward to sledding from Ljubelj and similar antics in the evening hours. One more thing: grandpa immediately warned me he'd confiscate it for mushroom picking, he he. If you ask me, I recommend it (Magicshine MJ-808E). these are really completely different dimensions. Oh, need to buy a head mount. Apparently available for bike helmet too, but I don't need that (yet).

MajaO: thanks, maybe we'll meet somewhere sometime. Where do you usually roam (with the light of course)?

MajaO, would you recommend yourself if it's really possible. Next week once in Lj. - this weekend I'm away though.
