Yes, I've been to Triglav. Only 1x and exactly on the route you mention. But I also ran into that "little chain" before the summit and honestly because of that it really never pulled me back.
This time leaning a bit more to departure from Bohinj or Mojstrana side ...

Dear hikers, I need some help.
I'm getting a visitor from the USA who wants to go to Triglav. I'd take two days and wonder which route you recommend we take.
Condition is that the route doesn't require special gear (no more than e.g. helmet and rope), nice views and somewhere in the middle by tour length.
And hut must be in between for overnight. One more question, to the top first day or second day early morning?
