Friday is a day for a blast and it had to be used. Start from the parking lot in Krma where there were only a few cars just after six, at three degrees Celsius. Already the first steps among blooming gentians put me in a bind. Yesterday I ran the Cooper test and since my legs aren't too used to flat terrain, my right thigh muscle was signaling all the way to the first steep part, where the issue subsided. Snow starts only above the forest, in the dwarf pines that someone nicely trimmed, ice a bit lower. The route poorly trodden, especially above Prgarca, the poor track led towards Stanič for quite a while, which extended the path considerably. I spot the first people only at Kalvarija, mostly with skis. Just after arriving at the hut, I hear the helicopter that did the replacement of the working duo. The view towards the summit not very friendly, as it was slowly wrapping in fog. I put away my wet clothes, drink a beer and slowly head towards Mali Triglav. Already at the very foot I meet a couple returning, as due to wet snow they didn't dare continue and turned back before the traverse that someone equipped with a rope, and a bit lower another one. Relatively little snow, so crampons were more of a hindrance than help in 70 percent, ice axe even in ninety. Of course, their use will be necessary in some places for at least another month. Alone at the tower, sad because I couldn't take any photos, no cold or wind. And lo and behold. I was already relatively late, as I reached the tower only at 11:30, but I was still too early, as the fog started retreating quickly after I left. Descent slow and cautious, scraping crampons on dry rocks and swinging the ice axe in hand wasn't to my liking. Few visitors, about eight skiers reached Kredarica, on the summit that day only two young foreigners. I descend with crampons, as they somewhat act like snowshoes since the snow is crusty, some hole is so deep you can't see the ground Well, luckily it never sank that deep for me, I take off crampons only below Prgarca. Huge blooming gentians in the forest and before the parking. Skiers had long passed me, the young ones from the top overtook me too, so I'm the last in the valley. But in the lower part I met three groups of hikers who were probably heading to overnight; from a hundred-kilo giant, with skis and a pair of short-pants guys in sneakers??? Greet Dani and home into husband's embrace
